LAHC Conference 2024

Last Thursday, 17th October, a group of 7 pupils of our school participated at the LAHC conference held at the Grange School. The theme was “Leadership” so students were given the opportunity to share their thoughts on the subject and on what schools can do to provide them with the best opportunities to get different experiences to develop their skills.

The pupils who accepted this challenge were Agustín Blázquez Fernández (2nd B) for Outdoor Education, Francisca Peragallo Papic (3rd A) for Social Action, Mila Carrillo Irazuzta (3rd A) for Communication, Manuel Danús Velázquez (3rd A) for Sports, Maiko González Peña y Lillo (3rd A) for Arts, Joaquín Umaña Lolic (3rd B) for Sustainable Development, and Clara Undurraga Alamos (3rd B) for School Governance.

The pupils were divided into groups of around five, with each group focusing on a particular field of leadership. Each pupil in the group had a maximum of five minutes to talk about their experiences. After they had all spoken, there was around 20 minutes for questions by the Heads who attended the conference and students had to answer them according to their own experience.

Our students shared their experiences with this audience composed by Heads of different schools in Latin America. One by one, they presented their speeches and we want to congratulate each one of them as they did an amazing job. Especially, because they were able to reflect on the different topics demonstrating a high level of critical thinking and a perspective of life and different global issues which prove they will be great leaders in the future.
