Our founders, Richard and Julia Collingwood Selby, have always intended that Redland School should pay attention to this last group of qualities, the human qualities, which make you, which make you good to know, which make you pleasant to be with. Their vision is to develop 4º Medio graduates who know how to be human, and how to treat other humans like a human. I congratulate you all on your very human qualities.
Cada camino tiene un fin. Pero es el camino lo que importa, al final.
All those talents and skills, all those varied personalities, all those human qualities, these are what go with you on your next journey. They also make this group very special. No other generation of Redland graduates is quite like you. Creative, united, happy, and a whole bunch more besides.
And now we say goodbye, and your journey continues. You grow more. You learn more. You change. You will do things well. Perhaps you will make a few mistakes, but that’s okay.
But on behalf of the whole Redland community, I wish you well. I wish you every happiness and every success. I wish you joy and I wish you peace. Keep in touch. Come back and see us one day. Because forever, you, the generation of 2009 will remain in our hearts.
